We have utilized our racing technology and suspension knowledge to design a street coil-over that can be custom tailored to deliver the best possible ride quality for all applications. The all-aluminum shock body provides a long lasting, high-tech finish that is sure to impress. Our special protective spring coating not only makes our springs last longer, but gives them a brilliant, chrome-like finish. You won't find a better looking shock and spring combination anywhere! The R-Series' consistent, non-leak design is done right the first time! AFCO Hot Rod Shocks are manufactured in-house — RIGHT HERE IN THE U.S.A. Building our shocks in-house means that we have complete control over quality and production tolerances. We only build the best, and you'll be able to tell the difference when you bolt on a set of AFCO shocks. AFCO's Hot Rod Shocks are rebuildable for long life and revalvable to fit nearly any specific application. Our outstanding customer service and in-house manufacturing means the buck stops here. AFCO incorporates the same exacting tolerances and extreme levels of quality assurance in manufacturing their street rod shocks as they do in their race-winning circle track and drag racing shocks. However, these polished billet aluminum street rod / muscle car versions are purpose-built to provide a great ride and chassis control without the harshness many folks expect from a high performance shock. The secret is in the precision, race-inspired internal design that provides exceptional sensitivity to small, quick movements (bumps), while still providing firm control over relatively slower strokes (chassis roll). This “velocity-sensitive” valving sets AFCO shocks apart on the track and has been tuned to provide the ride you’re after on your street rod. Every shock is dyno-tested on a state-of-the-art, computer-controlled shock dyno to ensure the highest quality standards. The machined aluminum body provides long lasting good looks and lightweight performance. A great shock deserves a great spring. AFCOIL springs are guaranteed to lose no more than 2% of their free height for the life of the spring. Because spring rate is a function of free height, wire diameter, and number of active coils, keeping a consistent free height is critical to maintaining a given spring’s rate. Measure from the center of the mount locations A=10"–11" length at ride height = 3” stroke shock A=11"–12" length at ride height = 4" stroke shock A=13"–14" length at ride height = 5" stroke shock A=15"–18" length at ride height = 7" stroke shock A=18"–20" length at ride height = 9" stroke shock
